Herman Taylor Jr. Receives the 2024 ACC Pamela S. Douglas Award for Diversity and Inclusion

Director of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Cardiovascular Research Institute honored by the American College of Cardiology.

Herman Taylor Jr., MD, FACC, Director of the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Cardiovascular Research Institute, received the American College of Cardiology (ACC) 2024 Pamela S. Douglas Award for Diversity and Inclusion at the ACC Annual Scientific Session on Monday, April 8 in Atlanta.

As the ACC wrote in an announcement, “Dr. Taylor has played a major role in advancing health equity, diversity, and inclusion through science and direct action in the field. An outstanding clinician and researcher, Dr. Taylor is the founding director and PI of the Jackson Heart Study, through which he established the world's foremost repository of multilayered data on African American heart health. A master educator and frequent keynote speaker, Dr. Taylor currently leads the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the Â鶹¹ÙÍø where he is mentoring the next generation of physician-scientists.â€
